The current price of a new Porsche 911 Carrera 4 is priced around £65,000 including VAT.

The four-wheel drive version of the Porsche Carrera adds only about 50kgs to the weight of the car so this doesn’t affect the performance of the Porsche Carrera 4 at all.

The 325 bhp of the Porsche Carrera 4 means it will reach 62 miles per hour in 5.1 seconds and a top speed of 174 miles per hour. The new versions have new designed headlamps, LED running lights and improved rear clusters.

The Porsche Carrera 4 has the Porsche Traction Management transmission – previously only available on the top-spec Turbo. The Porsche Traction Management transmission uses an electromagnetically-controlled multi-plate clutch set-up for optimum distribution of power between the axles. There is also a mechanical limited-slip differential as well.

As a result of this grip and perfectly developed stability control, the Porsche Carrera 4 is viewed as one of the most driver-friendly sports cars available.

The 3.6 litre flat-six engine has, for the first time, direct petrol injection. This increases power although the engine is cleaner and more fuel efficient than previous versions. The Porsche Carrera 4 also has a 44 mm wider body shell than the rear-wheel drive models.

Porsche has updated the ‘infotainment’ of the Porsche 911 Carrera 4. There are lots of options including an intuitive touch screen and voice recognition, plus the USB and MP3 player connections are now housed in the central armrest. Drivers can also connect their mobile phone in a variety of ways.

Porsche enthusiasts say that the Porsche Carrera 4 is very easy to drive very quickly. It grips the road so well even when exiting a corner.
